History
Rock band Longshot was formed in 1999 and has been playing its unique blend of melodic rock music all over the capital for the last few years.
Three members of the group Tom Hutchison, Alan Porter, and Matt Foreman met and created the band while working for peanuts as glass collectors in Walthamstow Dog Track, East London.
They spent their first year writing songs and getting the band’s sound together. Longshot was bordering on a punk-style rock and roll band at the time but has since developed their sound to what is best described a cross between Gomez, Coldplay and Foo Fighters.
The new five-piece Longshot, all in their early 20s, have been making waves on the underground live music circuit since.
Longshot has featured live in session on London's Xfm Radio station (104.9fm).
They have played numerous high-profile gigs at such prestigious venues as The Ocean, in Hackney, The G Lounge, Camden, Lark in the Park, Islington, The Rock Garden, in Covent Garden, Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA), central London, West One Four, in Kensington, and Sound, in Leicester Square.
The group is completed with drummer Alan Enston and keyboard player Alex Butters.
They have been busy working on honing their image and recording new material in the last six months - as well as extensive touring across London.
